BLOGMAS #1- LUSH FAVOURITES

 

Ok so my first #Blogmas post is a day late, oops. I am going to try my absolute hardest to get some posts scheduled to take part in Blogmas again this year- last year I found it was such a cute thing to do during the run up to Christmas, it really got me into the festive spirit! I would definitely recommend getting involved, and blogging about all things Christmassy!

 

So to kick #Blogmas off, I thought I would start with a little wish list. Have you been in Lush recently? If you have, then like me you were probably blown away by their huge array of festive bath bombs, Christmassy soaps and bubble bars.

 

For Christmas I actually asked for 7 of these.... ikr, a bit obsessive. Although they have a wide range of Christmas gift sets which include festive favourites and best sellers, I just couldn't find one that had all of the items I wanted, so I made my own!... if you want to do the same you can get your bath products wrapped in a Christmas scarf, so cute.

  My favourites from the Christmas range are:   - Bar Humbug - Peeping Santa - The Magic of Christmas - Holly Gollightly - Candy Mountain - Yog Nog - 5 Gold Rings - Snow Angel - Magic Wand   ...Sooooo kind of the whole range!  Have you got any favourites? LUSH- WHAT'S NEW?

Some may say that LUSH is over rated- I beg to differ. I started shopping there around a year ago when I was living in Leeds... the LUSH store is fab!... I just think its lovely how you walk out smelling amazingggg. Lush differs itself from other cosmetic bands as their ranges of not only bath bombs, soaps, hand creams and hair products are made without animal testing, organic, smell divine, and are seriously unique.

 

My favourite LUSH product range is 100% the bath products- especially the bath bombs and bubble bars. There are new ones in all the time, I just love how creative they are! Although they come at a price, I have always had a positive experience with LUSH products considering I have sensitive skin... which is why I was very excited to see their new products in store this week.

 

Some of my favourites include the Rose Jam, Granny takes a dip, Frozen and Yuzy and cocoa which are all new. The Rose Jam in particular smells awesome, and I just cant resist a glittery bubble bar! Similarly, I can imagine 'granny takes a dip' and 'frozen' leaving your bath looking vibrant to say the least! That's part of the fun of it... making your bath water look like a Disney Princess just stepped out.

  I will most certainly be making a few purchases this weekend, I can't wait to review these!   Have you tried any of the new product range? Any recommendations?   Have a fab weekend! :)    

LUSH| LONELY HEARTS BUBBLEBAR

'LONELY HEARTS' BUBBLEBAR- £3.50- LUSH

Okay so if you're a regular reader of my blog, you are probably beggining to pick up on the fact I'm going through a phase of being obsessed with LUSH products, especially their bath products. Two of my recent posts reviewed two of their bath bombs; 'twilight' and 'space girl' which were absolutely fab. I think I mentioned how I was dying to try their valentines collection, so when I was staying with my boyfriend this weekend I decided to pay LUSH a little visit.

I went in especially to buy the 'heart throb' bath bomb, as I absolutely love the whole fizzing and colourful bath they make, however I couldn't find any, except a pile in the window which neither me or my boyfriend dared to touch (I know, absolute idiots)... This went on for a good 10 minutes debating who was going to grab one. In the end I decided to just try a 'lonely hearts' bubble bar, which attracted me because it smelt so lovely and it was covered in glitter. 

However I didn't know what a bubble bar was, now I know that basically you break them up into pieces under running water and it basically makes lots and lots of bubbles and also makes your bath colourful and so shimmery! (The one thing I don't like about bath bombs is that there is no bubbles). As awful as it sounds the bath literally looked like it was full of blood, but I was pleased at how bold the colour was and how shimmery the water was! Unfortunately, I did have a reaction to this product, while sitting there I realised I was covered in tiny red dots, luckily the rash went down the next morning but if you have sensitive skin give this one a miss.... Although I can't say I won't try it again because I absolutely loved it!

In conclusion to my story, on my exit from the shop a lady who worked in LUSH brought out a whole new tray of heart throb bath bombs... Moral of the story, just ask hahha. Have you tried any of the valentines collection? Do you love LUSH products as much as I do? Leave me a comment below! :) 

LUSH| Space Girl

'SPACE GIRL' BATH BOMB, £2.35, LUSH

Recently I have really been enjoying trying out new cosmetics and beauty products, I have especially been excited to try out LUSH bath bombs. Last week I shared with you my review of 'Twilight' which I have got to be honest, I did prefer over the 'space girl' bath bomb. I was very excited to try this bath bomb as it looks so pretty! In the shape of a space ship, it is one of the smaller bath bombs which LUSH sells, meaning it was less expensive than 'Twilight' at just £2.35. The bath bomb itself is a lilac colour with beautiful red glitter on top, so I was very excited to see what it was going to look like in the water!

There was no need to cut this one up into pieces, as because it is a little bit smaller, to get the full effect I think using the whole product at once was more appropriate. The bath bomb fizzed and crackled like popping candy when released into the water, and the bath filled with red and purple tones, however I must admit I was a little dissapointed as the water just stays purple, whereas the 'twilight' bath bomb stays multi coloured and shimmery.

I must say though, the scent is divine! I am unsure as to what the actual scent is, but it is very fruity and reminds me of Palma violets, love it! My skin smelt absolutely gorgeous afterwards and was left feeling silky and soft, love it!

Overall, I loved this product, it looks fab and smells lovely but I would say if you want your bath to be full of colours and sparkles you might want to give this one a miss! This was probably just down to the fact it was a smaller size than the 'Twilight' bath bomb, but if you're looking fir a gorgeous product to help you relax, definitely give this one a try! 

I absolutely can't wait to try out some more LUSH products, the Valentines collection is definitely at the top of my wish list right now!

LUSH| Twilight

LUSH 'Twilight' bath bomb, £3.35

I don't know about you, but I can never really be bothered with the fuss of having a bath, personally I would much rather have a quick shower instead. However for 2 weeks I am staying with my boyfriend, so why not take the opportunity to make use of his bath! (The one in my student house is absolutely gross ). Anyway, as an added treat I decided to try out a Lush bath bomb, something I have wanted to do for ageeeess yet never really had the opportunity to use one!

I must admit I was a little cautious when it came to choosing a bath bomb, as I have quite sensitive skin I worried that the product could bring me out in a rash or I would have some sort of skin irritation, but since they are completely organic I had no problems whatsoever! When I was browsing the store I just could not choose a bath bomb there are so many and they all smell delicious, I was very tempted by their new valentines collection but some of them were so glittery I was conscious I would be shimmery for days... 

So, I finally chose the 'twilight' bath bomb, it is a beautiful pink colour which has stars and moons printed onto it which was super cute, then inside, it is blue with a lovely shimmery dust, perfect. One other thing I was worried about was exactly how much I needed to use for one bath, I thought quarters would be enough but I would say go for half. Easier said than done. I made every effort to break the bomb apart, it is rock solid, in the end my boyfriend had to use a rather large kitchen knife to prise it apart.

With regards to usage, I absolutely loved the shapes the bath bomb made when released into the water, my bath looked gorgeous! The water in the end turns a beautiful purple colour with a slight glitter which also gives your body an added shimmer! The product itself cost £3.35 which I don't think is bad for an occasional treat, my Friday evening consisted of my LUSH bath, wine, and my boyfriend to make me food perfect. He is also becoming a fellow LUSH lover, he bought the blue robot bath bomb at the weekend too!

I can honestly say that I am 100% a converted bath user, and most certainly a fan of LUSH. Their range of bath bombs is extensive, but once you find the perfect scent for you, you'll fall in love. I am so glad I tried LUSH and despite their products retailing for a slightly higher price than a bath bomb from Boots or Superdrug, but you just cannot beat the quality and ethical values of these products!

LUSH Cosmetics

Firstly, I have a little, slightly embarrassing story to share with you... Ok, I was browsing the products in LUSH, when I came across these gorgeous Star Light, Star Bright bath bombs, so of course, just like with every other product, I picked it up to smell it (it smelt absolutely amazing), but as I smelt it, I managed to blow a hell of a lot of glitter all over my face, hair and top... very embarrassing as I had to spend the rest of my afternoon walking around town like flipping Tinkerbell!   Anyway, I decided to have a little look in LUSH, as although I never tend to buy anything from there, I do like to have a smell of all the beautiful products in there. Recently I have heard so much hype around LUSH's new Christmas collection and I must say it is not disappointing! In particular, my favourite was the Star Light, Star Bright bath bombs which only cost £3.50 each. I am also a massive fan of the Golden Pumpkin and Wizard bath bombs, all of their products are simply amazing. I must say though, my all time favourite scented product at LUSH is the RockStar hand and body soap at £3.40 it is so beautiful!   No matter what you're looking for, LUSH Cosmetics will have something to suit everyone, their bath bombs and soaps are particularly nice but they have many other bits and pieces to offer, plus everything smells delightful, is handmade and is ethical, what's not to like?   Do you use LUSH products?
