STATEMENT SLEEVES

PETITE Trumpet sleeve top, £12, Topshop
So, another trend I am absolutely loving at the moment is statement sleeves. I would be the first one to admit that my style can be boring at times, I'm not very adventurous, and I am an absolute worshipper of all things monochrome. So, me wandering around with massive flappy sleeves is kind of a big deal.
I think it's such a feminine design, and we need more of that right? I feel like their has been such a focus on boyish fashion that we've all lost sight of what constitutes 'girly', so yep, I'm all for frills, ruffles and flappy sleeves. Of course, Topshop made the perfect combo, making this a bardot crop top design in the process.
I actually wore this outfit for an interview, if you were wondering why I am unusually dressed in all black, however this top would work as a perfect combo to an denim skirt or even dress it up for a cocktails mate date.
Love them or hate them, statement sleeves are here for the season.

BARDOT

Long Sleeve Jersey Bardot Crop Top White, £8, Missguided
Every girl goes through fashion stages of obsession, so far I've had my choker, high waist jeans, suedette, camel coat and knee high boots stages. Now, i'm on to bardot tops. Myself and one of my best friends were talking about this at the weekend, I love how 90's fashion is slowly creeping its way back onto the scene, along with other eras. The 90's being by far my favourite fashion era.
Of course, the 90's encompassed the bardot top. I find this off the shoulder design so flattering and I can get enough, not only did I pick up this white top for £8 from Missguided, but also a burgundy ribbed version. Personally I love to wear these with a pair of high waist jeans... so I can actually get away with wearing this top in this awful weather! In the spring, I will definitely be wearing this with a denim skirt, or shorts in the summer.
Yay or nay?

OOTD: CHRISTMAS DAY

MINI TULLE SKIRT, £25, TOPSHOP
Is this post allowed? I'm not sure. I'm either going to annoy you for still banging on about Christmas, or sadden you that it's over and we are now almost slap bang in the middle of dull January. Anyway, i'm catching up a bit on posts, having been busy preparing for my university deadlines (which have now all been submitted, yeyyyyyyyy!).
I feel like 100% of the female populations Christmas day outfits fall into two camps, you're either a onesie/ pyjama girl, or a dress up as much as you can kinda girl. I'm the latter. Although it's pretty pointless unless you're actually leaving the house to visit family or eat out, I think its always lovely to feel pretty on Christmas day. For me, its the one day of the year I can wear as much glitter as I want and nobody can say anything.
This year I opted for one of the beautiful Topshop taupe mini tulle skirts, teamed with pink glittery top from Topshop (a couple of years ago). One thing I would say about the fit of the skirt is that size wise, it is super stretchy due to its elasticated waistband. I ordered an 8 but really I would say anybody up to a 10 could fit into a size 6.

Dip Dye Vibes.

Dip dye rib jumper, £39, Topshop

As soon as I spotted this on Topshop's Facebook and Instagram pages I knew I had to snap this one up! This is definitely not something I would usually go for, however this jumper makes the perfect cosy winter jumper.

Of course sticking with my usual monochrome tones, the dip dye effect also introduces purple hues as the jumper fades from cream to black. The oversized effect and longer back design makes this a tricky one to fit, I had to buy a size 6 and it was still too big and long on the sleeves for my liking, although it is super cosy! So if you are thinking of buying this jumper, definitely try the size below first.

Due to the nature of the material, the jumper can also carry static, however this goes away after the first wear. I absolutely love the dip dye effect, although my boyfriend actually referred to it as a 'PowerPoint presentation gradient effect, mixed with a Newcastle supporter'... yup.

I originally didn't buy this jumper when I first tried it in store, and is now out of stock online, however if you do want to find one, it is my understanding that these jumpers are now in the 'last chance to buy' section, or you can check the in store stock levels as I did through their website.

For £39, this is definitely an investment piece you need to add to your winter wardrobe. What do you think? Leave me a comment below! :)

OOTD- A WEEKEND IN THE CITY

Ankle shoe boots, New Look (last year)/ MOTO Jamie ripped jeans, Topshop (Last year), Cross over cotton floaty cami, Topshop/ Michael Kors rose gold chronograph watch/ Teya enamel button necklace, Ted Baker at Fenwicks, £28/ Cardigan, Topshop (years ago).

Okay it's not actually my outfit of today but it was my favourite outfit of this weekend...

I wore this outfit for Notting hill carnival, shopping on Oxford Street, and strolling through London's St James' park. Firstly... don't wear heels around London- even if you do claim that they are 'the comfiest shoes you own' because after walking miles to and around Notting Hill, and from bond street, down Oxford Street to the South bank, my feet were crippled! Even days later after I got home, my ankle feels so weak, but I guess it is a case of 'no pain, no gain'!

As for my jeans, I took a risk- I hadn't worn these before and also struggled to get them on last year, so yes they were a little snug... not fab for walking around all day! As we are coming out of the summer season now- since when did we even get a summer?... I felt it time to start transitioning my outfits into more of an Autumnal vibe, hence the very warm looking cardi...

As always, accessories are key. I tend to always wear two rings and my Michael Kors watch, and I also chose to wear my new Ted Baker necklace!

By writing this post I've actually noticed how old my clothes are... they were nearly all bought last year... I definitely need a shopping spree!

What do you think? How are you transitioning your outfits from Summer to Autumn? Let me know below! :)

BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND- LONDON

I hope you all had a fab bank holiday weekend! Shame about the weather and how fast it flew by...
I decided to spend the weekend in London with my boyfriend which was so lovely! however our downfall was that neither of us planned anything ahead of going, I had ideas floating around of Camden market, Shoreditch, The Shard, Hyde Park and Carnaby Street... but in reality we missed out on two 2for1 vouchers, got lost on the way to Notting Hill carnival and paid double for a Madame Tussaudes ticket the day we went... did I mention the rain?

It wasn't all bad, in fact I discovered 2 amazing gelato shops, soaked up the culture at Notting Hill Carnival, got a selfie with Kim K at Madame Tussaudes and ate candy floss in the rain at London Zoo.

Saturday
To kick off the weekend we paid a visit (reluctantly in Kyle's case) to ZSL London Zoo... if you read my blog regularly then you will probably be aware that this is my third visit to the Zoo this summer, I just love it there, I can't resist a visit each time I'm in London! Afterwards, what would usually be a lovely walk through Regents Park down to Oxford Street turned out to be a good drenching, however I did make it to Oxford Street in the end to have a browse in Topshop, River Island, Mango and Zara... although I must admit Topshop was a little disappointing, it's just that time of year when you can't even find anything you like to buy. After this we decided to go to Planet Hollywood, this is definitely the type of restaurant for a one off visit or special occasion... unless you're loaded. The food is divine and the atmosphere is fab, I just love seeing all the movie memorabilia while i'm snacking on spaghetti and meatballs....

Sunday
Although we thought it would rain Sunday and so made other plans, we decided to go to the Notting Hill Carnival instead, this is definitely one for the bucket list, I have always wanted to go and heard its amazing so I was so impressed to see dancers, performers and floats, accompanied by a gorgeous aroma of jerk chicken... you could spend all day here but we were there for 3 hours... after struggling to even find the carnival! We then got the tube to bond street so I could pop into Victoria Secret... I don't even need to explain how amazing 3 floors of Victoria Secret is. Once again we then walked along Oxford Street to Selfridges and then down to Regent Street where we discovered the most amazing gelato shop. We then walked down through St James' Park which has the most beautiful scenery and then across to the south bank before heading back to the hotel, and of course, Nandos.

Monday
Last day! Boooo :( We started by getting the tube to Baker Street to Madame Tussaudes... although I thought it would just be the wax works (which are ridiculously realistic), but you can also get professional photo opportunities, enjoy a London Dungeon themed experience (I say enjoy- I actually screamed...), a 4D Imax movie experience and a ride, themed a journey through the history of London, not forgetting the extra Star Wars experience. We then got the tube back to Charing Cross so that we could visit Covent Garden, home to some fab street acts (aka a fat man in his pants balancing his ladder on the cobbles whilst juggling 3 axes) and another amazing gelato shop- Morreli's Gelato. Finally we walked up to Oxford street to Bella Italia before getting the train home!

As you can imagine I have walked flipping miles this weekend, I am not only knackered, but also have strained my ankle through wearing heels the entire time... no pain no gain ey?

What have you all been up too over the bank holiday? Leave me a comment below! :)

My Holiday OOTD's!

I'm back!!!! So last week I was in Playa Blanca- Lanzarote, in fact at this moment in time I was at 'Rancho Texas' animal and waterpark... now I am currently sat writing this post whilst it is 10 degrees outside and spitting on to rain... holiday blues? I think so. Anyway, I thought I would share with you a few holiday OOTD's, I must say my denim shorts were a fave and so were my crop tops, so easy to mix and match with! I am definitely missing wearing my beautiful bikinis as underwear :( haha! I am not missing however the multiple outfit changes I didn't know were required on holiday!

1. Saturday night- Topshop folk print blue crop top £16/ Topshop petite 3d flower skirt £36/ Topshop WALLFLOWER tan wedges £52/ Topshop Tan leather handbag (last year)/ Topshop crop denim jacket (3 years ago)- Wow. I just realised my entire outfit was Topshop... I just loved this outfit as all of the items are so versatile and perfect for going for a meal and drinks!

2. Wednesday- Fuertaventura- Topshop MOTO Rosa denim shorts £28/ Topshop folk print 3/4 crop top £18/ Sainsburys tribal print beach bag £18/ New Look gem sandals £19.99. This was probably my favourite beach outfit, this day was particularly hot when we took a boat trip to Fuertaventura so this outfit was great for just wearing my bikini top with shorts, and sticking my essentials in a beach bag (check out Sainsburys collection of beach accessories, they are all fab!)

3. Monday- Rancho Texas animal park and waterpark- Miss Selfridge cream crop top £8/ Topshop Moto denim shorts £28-I promise i'm not wearing a bright bra under a cream top, it was actually my bikini!

4. Evening meal- Miso cream cotton mini dress- I have had this dress for literally about 4 years now, I have no idea how I still manage to squeeze myself into it, but I just love it! I particularly love the big flower corsage on the shoulder (you cant really see this from the picture).
5. Sunday night- Topshop crop top £16/ Superdry cotton beach skirt £36- I love this outfit! It just makes me feel so girly and holiday ready! The skirt is a little pricey but so comfy and is perfect with a crop top combo.

6. Monday night- Topshop crop top £16/ H & M cream and silver skirt £19.99- You can tell this crop top got a lot of wear! You also cant really see the skirt but it was a cream textured skirt with silver detailing, it is so perfect for all occasions.

7. Timanfaya volcano- Topshop cross over back sun top £26, Pink converse, Topshop Moto denim shorts £28- So as I was going up a volcano and going on a camel ride, I had to ditch the bikini and flip flops and instead put on my trusty converse.

8. Playa Blanca- Papagayo Daroda beach- New Look pink frill bikini top £7.99 and bottoms £3.99-I just love bikinis, and especially this one, it was so comfy and looked so girly!

What do you think of my holiday outfits? Are you off anywhere nice this summer? Leave me a comment below! :)

OOTD| Turtle neck

Cream turtle neck jumper| £24.99| New Look

I will be the first person to admit that I used to absolutely hate anything remotely turtle neck, I just always associated them with the older woman who was trying to disguise a wrinkling neck. Even when they came into fashion at the end of last year, I really struggled to understand how or why that had even happened!

However I now have a huge obsession with them! I have a jumper, long sleeved top, and two crop tops already which are turtle necks, would you believe it?! Anyway, I picked up this jumper from New Look a couple of months ago, I absolutely love it! The material is really thick and so warm, perfect for this time of year, and the turtle neck makes it super cosy. However the only thing I would say is that even though it isn't actually a cropped jumper, it has a tendency to ride up a little which can be annoying! For a mere £24.99 though this will make a cosy jumper that you can pull out of your wardrobe every winter!

I teamed my turtle neck jumper with Topshop Jamie ripped jeans, yes I know my ripped jeans are a little out of season, but everyone else is still wearing them and they are still hugely on trend at the moment so why not? I also wore some suede heeled ankle boots which I am totally obsessed with right now (also from New Look, £29.99), a burgundy tartan River Island scarf (£15.00) and my trusty Topshop leather jacket (£45), a perfect cosy Winter outfit!

What do you think of the turtle neck trend, do you love it or hate it? Do you own a turtle neck? Leave me a comment below! :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

NYE OOTD: Burgundy lurex crop top, £22, Topshop| Faux fur trim skirt, £16.99, Missguided

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you all had a fabulous time on New Year's Eve! And I also hope you had a great time celebrating today, I would love to know what you have all been up to, so leave me a little comment below!

Also, I would love to know what you all chose as your NYE outfit... It's one of the most important of the year hehe. I chose to go all out and make the most of the festive period and chose to wear a gorge glittery burgundy top... My faveeeee colour! And then teamed it with glitter lips which I have been absolutely obsessed with this Christmas, and then a faux fur trim skirt... I think it is a little over the top but why not?! It's super girly a cute!

So, rather than setting resolutions I can't keep I have decided to set a few goals instead, of what I hope to achieve this year!

1. Get a fashion marketing work placement
2. Try to spend more time and money trying out new makeup products
3. Manage my money better and stop buying unnecessary clothes!
4. Make more blogger friends and attend more blogger events

Yep it's a mix, especially the 3rd one, but honestly I really do need to be more adventurous with my makeup routine!

Have you made some resolutions or goals? Tell me all about them in the comments section below! :)

Best of luck for 2015! x

OOTD: Metallics

I'm wearing: Boucle lurex top, £36, Topshop| MOTO Ripped black wash Jamie jeans, £42, Topshop| White strappy vest top, £2.99, New Look| Pink tartan wool scarf, £5, Primark| Faux fur collar leather biker jacket, Topshop

Okay, this is my first proper OOTD post, so please excuse my awkward poses and terrible use of my tripod, I gave it a go okay?! Oh, and I also thought I would experiment with the black and white filter on a new photo editing site I found recently which explains my mixture of photo effects! Oops.  I have been waiting for quite a few weeks now for the weather to become a little colder so that I could wear my new metallic jumper (it is classed as a top but really is much like a jumper), my boyfriend bought me this as a treat recently as I really couldn't resist the metallic, I am a sucker for anything shiny and glittery... I definitely must have been a magpie in a past life.

I really am delighted that metallics are yet again another key trend for this season, so glittery and shiny it is really starting to get me in the mood for Christmas! Whether its dresses, tops, skirts or jumpers there are a lot of metallics on the high street at the moment if like me you are a lover of all things shiny! If you aren't, then there are also many other ways to incorporate this trend into any outfit, whether it be an accessory or even just a gold plaque on your winter boots!

So, as it was an especially cold day for uni yesterday I decided I would combine my metallic jumper with my MOTO Jamie jeans, I think it is still suitable to wear ripped jeans don't you? I also wore my trusty leather jacket (I got this from Topshop around 2 years ago) and then wore my new River Island winter boots and finally my new Primark tartan scarf. Honestly this scarf is amazing, for £5 it is so cosy and warm, and is quite thick as well to protect you from the wind and rain, it really has been my life saver during this past week.

Not a very long post today as there isn't really that much I can say about an outfit aha! What have you all been buying recently, what is your perfect outfit for the autumn weather? Leave me a comment below! :)

OOTD: ARK

Today is the day! I am literally like a small child at the moment because today I go on holiday... to DISNEY LAND. Not one of you can say that if you were going you wouldn't be excited! Hehe. Anyway as you can imagine there will be a certain lack of blogging from me over the next couple of weeks, I haven't just disappeared :')

So before I go I thought I would quickly share a little outfit of the day post with you. Admittedly it is nothing special but hey ho I'm very fond of this top! The one thing I do dislike about going on holiday is the travelling, and as I will be going via car and Eurostar it means a very long car journey from the North East, hmph.

I am wearing: AX Paris daisy Print zip back top, £12.99, ARK| Joni high waisted jeans, £36, Topshop

I particularly love this top as it is a way of looking summery, even if you are wearing black as the daisy print is so cute! (please excuse the creases) It also looks really lovely with high waist denim shorts, as for my jeans, I know that high waist tight jeans aren't always the most comfiest travel clothes option, but if any of you have these joni jeans you will know how comfy they really are, and the best thing is, you can wear them and wash them over and over and they won't stretch out of place!

What do you tend to wear for travelling? Leave me a comment below! :)

OOTD: Birthday Night Out

In recent weeks I must admit I have been a bit down in the dumps, and therefore I just haven't been in the mood to write on my blog, hence why this is my first post in over a week! Hopefully I can start to get back to my usual blogging routine ASAP. Anyway, I thought I would kick the week off an outfit of the day post which I haven't done in a while, typical me though this outfit was actually worn last week at one of my best friends 19th birthday! My favourite part of this outfit is most certainly the Aztec skirt I hunted high and low for from Topshop which has been in and out of stock for weeks due to its popularity and I finally found my size in OUTFIT  a couple of weeks ago and it has now since become unavailable. I just love Aztec and thankfully it is so on trend at the moment meaning it is all over the high street. I teamed my skirt with a lovely lace crop originally from Urban Outfitters which I picked up from depop, and as always I wore a pair of 6'' heels. I decided to keep my accessories and make up simple with just my Michael Kors watch and a small necklace and finally adding a pop of colour with my lipstick (MAC Satin 'Rebel') which as anyone who knows me knows that I usually use it to 'dress up' any outfit :') What do you think of my outfit? Leave me a comment below! :)

OOTD: Girly Night Out!

So as it was my last weekend at home before I go back to university in Leeds next weekend, I had a celebratory night out with a couple of my best friends! My friend is at university in Durham and so it was super convenient for going out as we could stay in her halls. I had such an amazing night, however I was still drunk the next day until the afternoon due to a awful mix of Vodka, wine, jager and Moet champagne! Ew, let me stop before I vom. Anyway, from the photo's below you can see my besties looked amazing, and I decided to wear a velvet printed pencil skirt, cream chiffon cami, platform heels and a statement necklace. I decided to keep my outfit to simple monochrome colours, and then added a bit of sparkle with my necklace and added a dash of colour with Ruby Woo Mac lipstick, which is my new absolute fave lipstick! What do you think? :)
Cream V-neck chiffon cami- £18- Topshop
Printed velvet pencil skirt- £22- Miss Selfridge
Statement crystal necklace- £5.99- New Look
Black court platform heels- £35- BANK
