NEW YORK: DAY 1

As you may or may not have remembered, I booked a trip to New York waaaaaay back in January. After nearly a year of waiting, I flew to New York 24th November for a week! Sorry guys, but here comes the New York spam....

Ok so we had pretty nice flights, we left Newcastle at 9am and landed in New York 4pm (there time), but as you can imagine we were absolutely knackered after being awake almost 24 hours. As it was thanksgiving in New York we decided we should at least go for a meal, so went to Hard Rock Café in Times Square, which is an absolute must!!

So actual day 1... it was Black Friday and I couldn't resist going shopping to see how crazy it would be. Macy's was our first stop which was insane, with Apple watches for $200 and offers like "buy one Michael Kors watch, get one 75% off", their Christmas department is also incredible! But just a heads up you will 100% get lost in there. I am however disappointed at how many amazing makeup offers I missed out on because of how busy the counters were! We also found the best trainer shop, and I queued in Victoria Secret for 1 HOUR... that's dedication right there. We also had our very first experience of 'Chick-fil-a'....highly recommended, it's basically a fancier McDonald's.

We also came across the best Christmas market in Bryant Park, which I would definitely recommend over the Columbus Circle Holiday market in Central Park. On the evening we visited the Empire State Building, I could literally stay up there all day, it had the most incredible views of New York. We paid for both viewing decks, but I would say if you are planning on going up, just get the standard ticket, as you can see the views much better from the first platform!

No first proper day in New York would be complete without visiting Applebee's... I know people would usually say 'stay away from the chain restaurants', but I would say give them a go, we had the most amazing four mac and cheese there..

LONG WEEKEND IN PICTURES

Just a quick little post I thought I would share....my weekend in pictures, thankfully I also had Friday and Monday off work too! Although now I have no more holidays to take till Christmas, boooo.

Anyway, I spent my Thursday evening at the fireworks in Hyde Park- Leeds, I don't know about you but I love firework displays, there was no way I was missing out this bonfire night! I then made the most of my Friday and headed to York. York is one of my most favourite places, so beautiful and unique. Following a day shopping- in particular 'The Cat Gallery', 'Christmas angels' and 'The Disney Store'... starting to get an idea of the type of person I am?!... me and my boyfriend took a stroll in the park before heading home- I just loved how autumnal it looked!

Saturday was a bad day for my bank balance- while back in Leeds I managed to bag myself some  River Island winter boots, the most perfect Topshop Christmas pyjamas , some new New Look basic tops, jeans... and not to mention my binge in Victoria's Secret...

Sunday was more chilled and I went to the cinema to see Hotel Transylvania 2... as cheesy as it sounds I just love kids films, so good. Monday was not a good day with just a dentist visit on my day off :(

Little treats from me to me...

When I was naming this post I had to think a little, will my readers be expecting to see that I've bought myself something expensive or something really fab? Well I haven't, I just treated myself to a few bits and pieces I have had my eye on recently and seen as I haven't been having the best time lately, infact for the past two months I've become the unluckiest person ever, I thought I would treat myself to a little retail therapy. A few of these pieces were bought while I was in York for valentines day, and the rest was bought this week, surprisingly I haven't been buying a lot of clothes recently and my wardrobe desperately needs updating so I thought why not! I am also a bit of a skincare and makeup hauler at the moment, unfortunately my wish list is ever expanding...

'I LIVE FOR NEW YORK STYLE' CROPPED TEE-£16-RIVER ISLAND
I never ever ever buy slogan tops, but I am in desperate need of casual tops to pop on with my jeans and I just really liked the minimalist style of this top, also who doesn't love New York style?!...

FLEUR DE FORCE, THE GLAM GUIDE-£7.49-WHSMITH
I am a big lover of blogger and fashion/ beauty books at the moment so when I spotted this one in store the other day I just had to grab myself a copy. What I love about this book is that it covers beauty, fashion, lifestyle, dreams and relationships in such a casual way, you know those books when you just know this is so truthful and hasn't just been written by other people? That's the main reason I loved it, Fleaur de force offers such great advice and tips along with an insight into her personal experiences, I highly reccomend you grab yourself a copy! Next on my wish list is Love Tanya, by Tanya Burr.

GARNIER SHINE BE GONE! TONER-£3.29- SUPERDRUG
I am really trying to work on my skincare routine, I now use Micellar cleansing water, moisturiser and toner to try and keep my skin cleansed and oil free. I haven't tried this toner yet but it aims to minimise pores, reduce blemishes and prevent oily skin, so I'll let you know how that goes!

RIMMEL LONDON LASTING FINISH FOUNDATION & RIMMEL LONDON WONDER'FULL MASCARA- £7.99 EACH- BOOTS
Although I hardly ever buy my my makeup from boots as I prefer to get it cheaper at savers or body care I am trying to build upon my boots points haha, so when I popped into boots today I noticed all of their RIMMEL LONDON products were on offer 2 for £10 and considering I needed a new mascara, and the products are worth £7.99 each, I just had to get them!

OFF THE SHOULDER RIBBED TOP-£18.00-RIVER ISLAND
This was definitely an impulse buy, I spotted it alone, in my size and it had no orange makeup stains on it...I absolutely loved it and thankfully I bought it because they don't stock it in my local store! I really love the off the shoulder trend right now, and the ribbed nature of the material also keeps you warm in this freezing cold weather!

MULTIPLE ROW NECKLACE-£5.99-H&M
Again this is a trend which I have completely fallen for, I have seen  a lot of these about, especially in Topshop which have some gorgeous jewellery in store at the moment, but when I saw this one for just £5.99 I had to buy it, such a bargain! It is so perfect for dressing up a causal day outfit by wearing over a cami, oversized jumper or causal tee.

RIB FUNNEL TOP (NAVY)-£10.00- TOPSHOP
I am such a fan of Topshop basics at the moment, especially these funnel tops which combine casual wear with the high neck trend for just £10, I also have this one in white, shock.

What have you all been buying recently? What's on your wish list? Leave me a comment below! :)

Sheer Star embellished body, £25, Topshop| Metallic Top, £17.99 New Look| TFNC textured collar sheer top, £25, Topshop| Embellished necklace jumper, £14, Primark| Cream boxy top, £12.99, New Look| Lace cream tee, £16, Topshop| Lilac chiffon shirt, £20, Dorothy Perkins| Scallop hem dusky pink top, £12.99, New Look

Fluffy cream dressing gown, £14.99, New Look| Bellissimo Glitter Lips set, £13, Bellisimo at Topshop

When I was taking the pictures for this post I was literally horrified at the realisation of how many new things I have bought in the past 2 WEEKS, yep, 2 weeks... It isn't good, and neither is my bank balance. I can safely say that I have certainly taken advantage of the student lock ins, 20% student discounts and free time between uni sessions to go shopping and pick up some bargains. There really is no excuse for the amount of stuff I have bought, but honestly this was my autumn haul, I did seriously need to revamp my wardrobe in time for the colder months, is it just me or has it suddenly got really cold!?

There is no way I am going to talk through every one of these items to try and justify my spending, or this post would be a mile long, however I did need some new tees, I really did only have summer tops which were not appropriate at all... similarly I have needed to stock up on some cosy bits and pieces including my dressing gown (my heating is off), scarf (I actually bought this off my friend as I loved it so much) and this Primark jumper which I am actually really impressed with, it is great quality! I was also in desperate need of some new winter boots, so hey ho I ended up with these beauties.

As for the skirts, glitter lips set, body, handbag... these were such impulse buys which I couldn't resist, you know when you see something which is fresh into the store and you instantly know that it's going to be popular? Well seeing as though I literally go shopping every day I notice these things, which is why you should always bag something you love while you can! Remember girlies, nothing haunts you more than a item of clothing you chose not to buy...

In my defence 2 or 3 of these things were bought by my boyfriend AND I got 10/20% discount off the majority of all of this so I guess it isn't as bad. The Bellisimo lip glitter kit was one of my favourite purchases I cant wait to try it out! Although it was £13, the concession stand was only in Topshop over the weekend so I had to get it while I could, check back in a few days to see my review of it!

So, what have you all been buying recently? If you have a student loan, how much of it do you actually have left of it right now haha? What do you think of my autumn wardrobe haul? Leave me a comment below! :)

Clothes Haul: Part 1

If you're wondering why the post is titled 'part one' it is basically because I have also had an online spending spree, and I am still waiting for those items to be delivered... I have also just registered for a shopping student lock in for when I return to university in a couple of weeks! As you can imagine, the majority of my haul is from Topshop, but for once I have actually ventured out a little and found some fab pieces from New Look, Urban Outfitters and even George at ASDA.. I absolutely fell in love with this Pippa Lynn metallic skirt even though it is very out of my comfort zone, I love it! I have also been lusting after these ripped jeans for some time now they are an essential right now! For London Fashion week I am also planning to wear the lace top with the lace trim pelmet skirt and some new boots and leather jacket... let me know what you think girlies! :)

Birthday Shopping!

One of the things I love about birthdays is the presents and receiving money to buy those bits and bobs you've had your eye on for months but couldn't afford, I didn't really get that many presents this year so at the weekend I had one of the best shopping days I have had in ages, and really treated myself ! Luckily I didn't spend all of my money, so hopefully another shopping day will be on the cards in the near future!
Tiara silver & cubic zirconia ring- £40- Pandora| Tile stitch  leather crossbody bag- £38- Topshop| MOTO Authentic ripped skinny jeans- £45- Topshop| Petite floral trousers- £24- Dorothy Perkins| Fuchsia underwear set- £4- Primark

Okay so don't think I go and buy bra and nickers for my birthday presents :') I just picked this cute little set up because firstly, I seriously have no matching sets of underwear! And secondly, I don't know if you have noticed, but in Primark at the moment they have so many gorgeous underwear sets for just £4, bargain! This is seriously no joke, I made 3 trips to Topshop and tried at least 10 pairs of jeans on before deciding on these ones, and although I think they are a little pricey for Topshop jeans I fell in love with them! Although I have 2 pairs of 'Joni' jeans already, I just couldn't resist buying these as I wanted to venture into the world of ripped jeans...The bag I  bought has been something I have wanted for quite a while now, I just love it! I was honestly a little bit heartbroken when Topshop website told me it was "no longer available" but I managed to find 3 of them left in store thank goodness! If  you're a fan of comfortable style I highly recommend these Dorothy Perkins trousers, although they feel like you're wearing your pj's they look absolutely gorgeous and so summery! I would say though they are quite loose fitting so you might be like me and need a smaller size than usual.

Finally, I bought this beautiful Pandora ring, they really are one of my absolute favourite jewellery stores as they always have such gorgeous and pretty items that are such high quality! What have you all been buying recently? Leave me a comment below! :)

Happy 19th Birthday To Me!

Just a little life update! Yesterday I celebrated my 19th Birthday, wow I am getting OLD. Although when you actually see the pictures from my birthday you could easily be mistaken for thinking that this was the birthday of a 9 year old child, just another teen not wanting to grow up! Holy moly, this is my last teenage year... anyway... I celebrated my birthday mainly this weekend with my boyfriend who treated me to a weekend in London, including a trip to London Zoo (my favourite place ever) and a shopping day! On my actual birthday I also went for lunch and shopping with my dad in York, followed by a little tea party with the rest of my family.
Okay, so here are a couple of pictures from my birthday, in the way of gifts my dad bought me my first proper camera which I am so excited about as I can now finally start to take more professional pictures for my blog! My mum gave me money to spend on whatever I wanted and typically for me everything I wanted was either sold out or not in my size, fantastic. But she did get me a little surprise goodie bag from the Disney Store, always a good call, and filled it with a whole load of pink, fluffy and admittedly childish presents which I absolutely loved! I also managed to persuade my mum to buy me this gorgeous Disney Fairies birthday cake, who doesn't love Tink? If you are wondering why I have 3 birthday cakes, no I am not a heffa, my dads girlfriend baked me the cutest pink cupcakes and my close friend also made this magnificent chocolate finger/ malteasers/ m & m chocolate masterpiece for my birthday!
My final few pictures are of my prezzies, I have already told you about my Disney gifts, but my boyfriend also treated me to 2 MAC lippies in Diva and Cyber which are bold unusual shades of oxblood red and deep purple which I absolutely love and have wanted for ages! My mum also bought me the most amazing pink glittery MAC lipstick in Milan Mode, if you are very girly like me, you will adore this shade. The skirt I have added is from Topshop, one of the few things I picked up on my trip to Oxford Street, another favourite place of mine! I instantly grabbed this when I saw it as I have long been looking for a vintage style mini skirt and this one with a scallop hem adds a modern twist, the material also has a plastic sheen which is just amazing, I highly recommend you bag one of these while you can!  Finally, the image from the zoo is of the penguin pool, my absolute favourite attraction at the zoo, a bitter- sweet memory of my visit, as at feeding time I magnificently embarrassed myself by passing out due to the hot weather, I guess sometimes you've just got to laugh at yourself! Ah Well. Aside from the drama I had such a perfect birthday, now for the big 2 0, hmmm. P.S. My birthday cake isn't on fire, I just insisted on having 19 candles...

Depop!

I don't know if you have heard of this app, but I'm not kidding you it is becoming an addiction. Basically it is a little bit like Ebay where you can sell your brand new or used items to others, but this app means you can also swap items, negotiated over prices and message your seller before you buy. The app also allows you to pay direct through depop or through your own means via paypal or bank transfer, simple!

I particularly love this app as it lists all of the most popular items or you can search for a specific item, by building up a friends list you can also sift through the varies items people are selling. I know what you're thinking, it's basically people selling crap they don't want anymore... to be honest I have found that people tend to sell things they never got round to wearing and have never worn before for a fraction of the retail selling price, people are also selling handmade products such as scrunchies and chokers, all at bargain prices!
This is such a fantastic way to make a little bit of money or to save yourself some money by bagging yourself a bargain, I have already treated myself to a lace fringed cami, bandana top, lace crop top, 2 chokers and a fluffy jumper at such low prices.... I guess I can't afford to be buying full price items at the moment so at least I am feeding my addiction at a lower cost, right?

I have just got back from university, and guess what? My stuff literally won't fit in my room so it is time for a clear out, hence why I am now uploading loads of my bits and pieces to depop. I would absolutely love if you would follow me on there, my username is eleanordanksx also if you would like, you can comment your username below and I will give you a follow and check out your depop! :)
