YSL GLOSS VOLUPTE

I don't know what has happened to me recently, I seem to have become really lucky when it comes to winning makeup, firstly I won a lot of benefit cosmetics makeup as part of their #rollerlash competition, then I entered the lovely Jen's Journal's giveaway to win a Yves Saint Laurent lip gloss- 101 IRIDESCENT.

When my parcel arrived I was very surprised to find it packaged in a beautiful floral gift box (which will more than likely be used for makeup storage) which was filled with beautiful tissue paper and star conffeti, it looked amazing!

I am not really a fan of spending a lot on designer makeup as I think it works just as well as other high street brands, and I go through makeup that quickly that I would never be able to afford it, although I am a hoarder of MAC lipsticks! So when it came to this YSL lip gloss I couldn't wait to try it and see if it was worth the money.

I found that the angled and flexible brush applicator worked absolutely brilliantly and helped to apply the lip gloss precisely and evenly, the colour is also lovely and works as a beautiful nude, shimmery gloss. Although when it comes to making your lips more voluminous, I'm not sure whether I agree!

HAPPY EASTER!- MARCH IN PICTURES

HAPPY EASTER! I hope you are all having a wonderful day and have been spoilt with lots of lovely Easter eggs! Personally I am not really that much of a chocolate fan but I have been treated with a Lindt bunny and some Easter soft toys... I know, very mature. I can't help myself! So I thought I would do a 2 in 1 post, to wish you all a happy Easter and to share with you what I've been up to in the past month!

Aside from being way too busy at uni and looking for placements (still no success), I've been spending my weekends having some much deserved fun. Firstly it was boyfriends 21st, I seriously can't believe it, considering i met him when I was 14! It was quite a low key birthday but it was amazing! We went for a meal with his family and then went bowling, when you don't see each other much the little things really count! The following weekend I went on a mini trip to Amsterdam with my friends after breaking up from uni for Easter, we went Sunday evening to Tuesday morning on the ferry and although we only had 4 hours in Amsterdam it was a great experience! Although I must say the ferry was definitely a strange experience, I was very sea sick! One thing we did get to do in Amsterdam was visit the Ice bar, it's basically a frozen bar, it was fab! March was also a particularly good month for me as I was lucky enough to win some amazing treats from benefit as part of their #rollerlash competition! I won 3 they're real mascaras, 3 bad gal lash mascaras, 3 roller lash mascaras, cha cha balm, they're real eye makeup remover and a lip gloss!

Finally I am currently on holiday in Scotland for the Easter weekend, yesterday we visited the most beautiful beach, it was so warm, you would honestly never dream of it being in Scotland! We also visited a zoo, which was great! What have you all been up to this bank holiday? Leave me a comment below :)

ESSIE- A SPRINKLE IN PINK

I was debating for days over this nail varnish and whether I actually liked it or not, as to be honest, although I love both of these nail polishes, I don't think the way I have applied the glitter as a top coat is to my liking! I initially chose this combo 'a sprinkle in pink' as it works out cheaper than buying the two nail polishes separately, and I thought they would look lovely together! I am a sucker for pink and glitter polishes so this was perfect. The two nail polishes in this combo are 'figi' and 'a cut above' which you can actually buy seperately, I really like the combos that ESSIE offer, but I do think the selection is quite small, this is the only one which caught my eye!

I think rather than applying the glitter as a top coat, I will applying to just the tips or to one nail on each hand instead. Do you have any other ideas?! I am completely useless at nail art!

Do you have many ESSIE nail polishes? Leave me a comment below :)
