CHRISTMAS COLLAB: EVERYDAY WINTER OUTFIT

Ok i'm starting to feel like a real blogger, since I went on my first 'shoot' on Tuesday with my friend and fellow blogger Katie, from http://www.ktramshaw.com/ . We decided Durham would be the perfect place for our mini shoot, however the weather was not in our favour, cue freezing cold fingers (serious frost bite if you ask me), wind in eye balls and a whole lot of mud... which my brand new Michael Kors handbag fell face down onto the floor into....
Anyway, when Katie came to me with the idea of doing a Christmas collab post, I thought it would be great to give you guys some inspiration on what to wear over winter as an 'everyday outfit'. I find this so hard. I feel like I always buy pretty clothes, but tend to not want to wear them for just everyday wear, but then never have an occasion to wear them! So, I decided to go for a cosy camel coat, high neck cropped top, cord skirt and ankle boots;
LIVELY Smart Heeled Boot, £88, OFFICE
Petite Crop Top with Turtle Neck in Space Dye, £12, ASOS
Fur Collar Boyfriend Coat, £65, Topshop
Burgundy Zip Front Cord Skirt, WAS £19.99 NOW £9.99, New Look
Accessories;
EMMALYN Button Pendant Necklace, £39, Ted Baker
SELMA Medium Leather Satchel, £310, Michael Kors
Scarf- River Island
Ring- Pandora

LONG WEEKEND IN PICTURES

Just a quick little post I thought I would share....my weekend in pictures, thankfully I also had Friday and Monday off work too! Although now I have no more holidays to take till Christmas, boooo.

Anyway, I spent my Thursday evening at the fireworks in Hyde Park- Leeds, I don't know about you but I love firework displays, there was no way I was missing out this bonfire night! I then made the most of my Friday and headed to York. York is one of my most favourite places, so beautiful and unique. Following a day shopping- in particular 'The Cat Gallery', 'Christmas angels' and 'The Disney Store'... starting to get an idea of the type of person I am?!... me and my boyfriend took a stroll in the park before heading home- I just loved how autumnal it looked!

Saturday was a bad day for my bank balance- while back in Leeds I managed to bag myself some  River Island winter boots, the most perfect Topshop Christmas pyjamas , some new New Look basic tops, jeans... and not to mention my binge in Victoria's Secret...

Sunday was more chilled and I went to the cinema to see Hotel Transylvania 2... as cheesy as it sounds I just love kids films, so good. Monday was not a good day with just a dentist visit on my day off :(

What did you all get up too? Leave me a comment below! :)

A/W15 BOOTS ROUND UP

 (Left to right)
Black metal block heel ankle boots, £29.99, New Look
Black cleated platform over the knee boots, £70, River Island
River Island suade peep toe block heeled boots, £60, ASOS
Black chunky ankle boots, £40, River Island
Black suadette chunky block heel ankle boots, £29.99, New Look
Black cleated sole ankle boots, £45, River Island
El Paso western studded ankle boots, £55, ASOS
Tan high heel ankle boots by KG Kurt Geiger, £160, Topshop

I've decided that now we are fully into the Autumn season now- how is it November 2nd already?... it is definitely time to ditch the peep toe shoe boots, and trade them in for some more practical and warm winter boots.

I have the same problem every year- there just seems to be boots everywhere now, too much choice! So I have wittled down some of my favourite picks for this post, as you can see there is clearly a recurring theme of black heeled ankle boots... for those who know me, you will know I cannot live without my heels! I really love the suadette and tassle trend too, not to mention the beautiful tan colours that are out there. I would also like to point out the star studs on these El Paso boots, they are fab!

River Island, ASOS, Topshop and New Look all have a wide variety of winter boots at an extremely affordable price. My go to place is always New Look who tend to have high quality boots for just £30, similarly River Island have some priced between £40-£50.

Do you have any recommendations of anywhere with a good selection? Have you just purchased your winter boots? Leave me a comment below! :)

#Blogmas Day 8| New Shoesies!

Black extreme heel Chelsea boots- £29.99- New Look

I have literally been looking for the perfect pair of winter boots for MONTHS. I bought some from River Island but I feel like I have made such a mistake and wasted £38 when I bought them on impulse a few months ago, they are baggy, and not high enough, I hate them. So then I looked around some more, and the only ones I could find were soooooo over priced (£60-£90) which is just so out of my budget... then to my amazement I found a whole range of boots in Garage shoes which were literally cheap replicas of all the boots Topshop, River Island sell at the moment, honestly it's crazy, they may not be the highest quality shoes but for half the price they are such a bargain!

Anyway I am going off track a little... just after I set my heart on a pair of River Island replicas from Garage shoes, I came across these babies in New Look. I can't believe I forgot how amazing the shoe section in New Look is... literally shoe heaven. Despite my money woes I knew I had to have these, they are shoe perfection I absolutely love them!

Although the material is suede and therefore very unsuitable for rain or snow, they look gorgeous, the shape is beautiful and they are super comfy inside... there is even extra padding to support your feet. Most importantly they look gorgeous! Honestly I feel so amazing wearing them I don't think I have ever owned such nice shoes for just £29.99, they are such great quality! Definitely recommend you bag yourself a pair of these while you can.... you can find my boots HERE.

What do you think? Do you like the Chelsea boots trend? What are your winter boots? Leave me a comment below! :)

River Island Wish List

1. Light pink long sleeve crop top, £16| 2. Cream fluffy crop top, £20| 3. Lilac marabou feather beanie hat, £13| 4. Black mesh embellished top, £28| 5. Grey faux fur box clutch bag, £30| 6. Black platform barely there sandals, £50| 7. Black cleated sole zip front ankle boots, £70| 8. Cream ribbed cowl neck top, £16| 9. Cream faux fur snood, £18

I must admit I haven't been a massive fan of River Island in recent times, but literally at the beginning of this week I walked into the store to find that everything had been moved around, there was a whole load of new stuff in store, and it was all right up my street! They have just got their new winter collection in store and it is full of casual knitwear, ribbed crop tops, velvet, glitter, winter warmers, pastels and fluffy accessories! I literally want it all so much, I have such a massive wish list right now and this is some of it!

I am a particular fan of their range of long sleeved crop tops, this pink one is an online exclusive whereas I have the lilac version which is limited edition, it also comes in black and grey. Something that caught my eye this week was quite an unusual style, the ribbed cowl neck top is just something that I would never usually go for, however high necks and turtle necks appear to be so on trend at the moment and I love it! I think they are very flattering in a way...

Recently I covered the fluff trend, it is everywhere... in particular I love this  fluffy hat, fluffy jumper and fluffy clutch. Faux fur is also a great trend for winter, it is a great accessory to your outfit and also keeps you super warm and cosy in these colder months, which is why I really like this snood.

If you also haven't noticed by now, I am a major magpie, I love anything that glitters or sparkles... and as you may have spotted, now that we are getting into the Christmas season metallic and glitter is everywhere right now, I just love this embellished sheer top it is so subtle yet is great for a special occasion, love it!

As for the River Island shoe collection at the moment you cannot go wrong, they have one of the best selections of winter boots that I have seen around at the moment, ranging in price anything from £30-£90 there is something for every budget and style, in particular I really like these black cleated sole zip front ankle boots but as I have literally just bought my winter boots I am going to have to resist the urge to buy these beauties.

Don't forget to check online at ASOS to see if they stock a particular River Island product to get your student discount (one of the reasons why I never shop at River Island) and at the moment you can pick up an issue of Grazia and get 25% off River Island!

What have you all been buying recently? What do you think of River Island? Leave me a comment below! :)

Bonfire Night Essentials

1. Faux fur paw mittens, £20, Topshop| 2. Dark red long sleeve crop top, £16, River Island| 3. Twisted faux fur snood, £25, Topshop| 4. Beth felt zip front A-line skirt baby pink, £19.99, Missguided| 5. Alice Hannah gem faux fur ear muffs, £20, Next| 6. Women's original tall gloss wellington boots, £95,  Hunter| 7. Kintted fluffy crop jumper, £34, Topshop| 8. Celine teddy faux fur pink, £54.99, Missguided| 9. Diaganol rib beanie, £14, Topshop| 10. Red tartan blanket scarf, £15, River Island

I am so excited for bonfire night I can't even explain it! Although I am a little bit down in the dumps that I won't be able to go with my boyfriend again this year, I do have my housemates instead! Living in Leeds is fab as there are so many displays to choose from, and they are all so amazing! The only thing I must complain about however is the weather, it's now November and it is starting to get very cold... so if like me you are deciding to head out to a firework display this bonfire night, I have compiled a list of all of the essentials you need to wrap up warm!

I absolutely love this time of year when it comes to revamping your wardrobe and buying all of your winter warmers, and now is the perfect time to grab yourself a bargain, so many places have offers on their winter essentials at the moment including Missguided who are offering 15% off a the moment on selected items!

When it comes to buying your bonfire night essentials I think it is very important to make sure you have your mittens, woolly jumpers, scarves, muffs and hats at the ready as it can be freezing cold, and firework displays usually mean waiting around for ages for them to actually start! I absolutely love this tartan blanket scarf from River Island, tartan is very on trend at the moment and so are blanket scarfs, they are so cosy! As for the paw print mittens, they are so irresistible, very cute. Also, considering you're going to be stood in a massive mucky field, don't forget your wellies! I am by no means saying go out and snap up a pair of Hunter wellies, they are so expensive, but if you do fancy getting a pair, look at them as an investment, you will be wearing these all winter ever year!

It's not all just about the winter accessories, there are plenty of ways to wrap up warm this winter, whether it is a fluffy jumper or a felt skirt, consider textures this season such as velvets and ribbed materials that are designed to keep you warm, dressing for winter doesn't have to mean a massive un flattering parka! I am absolutely in love with this teddy coat, very on trend for A/W14 as are winter pastels, so this one is perfect!

Are you heading out to a firework display this bonfire night? What are your winter essentials? Leave me a comment below :)

Smart boxy crossbody bag, £34, Topshop| 10. River Island Threadthrough tippet, £30, ASOS

The best thing about coming into a new season is not only are the leaves starting to fall from the trees, the days getting shorter and although the weather is getting colder, it also means high street stores are starting to fill up with all of their new A/W14 stock! I just love seeing all of the knitwear, woolly accessories and cosy winter coats coming into stores and it is safe to say that there are some major autumn trends which are coming onto the high street this season:

Patterns- in particular winter florals and folk prints.

Oversized teddy, cocoon & boyfriend coats- in all sorts of bold colours and textures.

Pastels- this trend has transitioned through S/S14 and into the autumn season, pinks, lilacs and blues are still so popular!

Blanket scarves & capes- not only are they super cosy but they are very on trend, think tartan.

Plaid- flannel checks and tartan prints on just about everything imaginable.

Collars- statement collars have been around for quite a while now and they show no sign of going away, whether you have an embellished neckline, a big collar or by just adding a statement necklace to your top, there are many ways to work this trend.

Sixties style- patent mary janes and the mini skirt are key ways to follow this trend!

Eccentric furs- we all have seen the faux fur collars on a leather jacket, but this season fur is going bolder than ever before, look out for huge fluffy fur coats and jackets.

Metallics- whether its metallic thread in your jumper, a completely metallic glittery dress or even just a metallic touch to your boots this will definitely put you in the mood for Christmas!

Sportswear- another trend which has transitioned from S/S14, this is such a fun trend and you can even get away with wearing your comfy trainers not just at the gym!

Fairytale- Think chiffons, lace, fluff and precious embroidery, one of my favourite trends this season.

Velvet- this was a huge trend last A/W season, I literally had a velvet dress, skirt, top, and scrunchies, and now it's back!

What is your favourite A/W14 trend? What do you think of my autumn favourites? Leave me a comment below! :)

Just like my winter boots top picks post, I have decided to put a little post together for you to help you choose your new winter coat! It is getting into that time of year when the weather gets so cold, and it's time to transition your style ready for the A/W14 season, there are so so many different styles of coat out there I thought I would share with you some of the key trends to follow this season!

Textures- It is all about the texture this season, whether its fluff, fur, teddy or wool, you will not be able to avoid textures, find what suits you and go with it!

Cocoon- There is absolutely nothing better than a cosy winter coat, when the cold months come you will be snug as a bug in these cocoon coats, a vintage style which is very much on trend.

Collarless- Collars are making a big impact in fashion right now, whether it is statement collars or none at all, coats are taking a vintage twist with the collarless trend!

Colour-  It is not just the pastels which are on trend right now, there are many bold and unusual colours to choose from when it comes to buying a coat, whether it's red, burgundy, green or mustard there are some gorge colours out there!

Boyfriend- The boyfriend coat is a timeless classic, one which will be around for many seasons to come, oversized boyfriend coats are super cosy and look great at the same time!

The parka- This may not be the most flattering or fashionable coat, but the parka has been adapted into so many new styles, whether it is a classic khaki parka or a navy one with an eskimo hood (number 10) this is one of the best coats to wear in horrible winter weather, durable in the wind, cold and rain!

Teddy- The teddy bear coat is much loved and very popular right now, super cosy and so cute, I am a massive fan of this style of coat.

Faux fur- An ultimate coat or jacket accessory.

Top Picks: Winter Boots

1. Black snake panel block heel ankle boots, £38, River Island| 2. Black platform Chelsea boots, £40, River Island| 3. Burgundy contrast split side Chelsea shoe boots, £24.99, New Look| 4. Chunky cut out boots, £29.99, New Look| 5. Apollo gold heel boot, £34.99, Ark| 6. Garnet super Chelsea boot, £34.99, Ark| 7. HARLEY double zip ankle boots, £75, Topshop| 8. New Look Wide Fit Aggro heeled ankle boots, £29.99, ASOS| 9. River Island chunky wood stack heeled ankle boots, £85, ASOS.

The reason behind this post is simply because I had an absolute nightmare last week trying to find some decent winter boots to buy! Is it just me, or is it whenever you aren't looking to buy anything, you see everything that you like, a couple weeks later when you actually come to buy something you can't get hold of anything you want! With the sudden change in weather I think it is high time I put my open toe platforms back into the wardrobe ready for next summer and wack out the winter boots.. oh wait my boots from last winter are a disgraceful mess.

So, when it came to looking for some new ones, I literally just thought to myself, there is no way I am even going to bother looking in Topshop because the shoes are waaaaaay out of my price range, like seriously, £75 for boots? Nuh uh. In the end I managed to pick up some lovely snake skin chunky boots with a side zip  from River Island for under £40! (Number 1 on my list). My friend (bad shopping influence and avid destroyer of my bank balance) also picked up some new winter boots, (number 2), some gorgeous platform Chelsea boots, honestly this style of boots are everywhere right now and are set to be so popular this season so grab a pair while you can! Unfortunately I can't as it would be wrong to buy a similar pair of boots as your friend, wouldn't it?...

I really do hope that if like me, you have been struggling to find some boots for the new season, that this list might help you out a little bit, or at least point you in the right direction! Honestly I think the places which have the best collections at the moment are New Look, River Island, Topshop and Ark so go have a look!

Have you bagged your new winter boots yet? What have you been looking for and have struggled to find on the high street recently? Let me know! :)

This Week's Wishlist

Knitted fluffy crop jumper, £34, Topshop| Faux Leather Biker jacket, £58, Topshop| My Little Pony pyjama set, £22, Topshop| Black platform sandals, £20, Primark| Light blue jacquard pyjama shorts, £14, River Island| Light pink metallic split back jumper, £30, River Island

If there is anybody who shouldn't be allowed to make a weekly wish list right now, it's me. Honestly, you have no idea how much I have actually spent this week, and last week, and the week before... well, in a few days time you will when I upload my "recent buys" post, which is truly shocking. I will admit thank of late I have gotten a bit carried away with 20% student discounts, shopping lock in's and gaps between lectures and I have managed to spend a good chunk of my student loan on my new Autumn wardrobe. In my defence, the weather has literally gotten so cold recently out of nowhere, hence why I have had to revamp my entire wardrobe with new jeans, winter boots, jumpers and tees to name a few. But I pinky promise myself, once I have completed this wish list I will be happy! I will literally have to stop buying for a few weeks to cover the cost of what I have already spent but hey ho, I bet I'm not the only shop-a-holic... (my friends are just as bad as me, and very bad influences on my spending habits!).

So, this wish list is basically my winter comforts, I have literally wanted this cream fluffy jumper for the past year but never got round to buying it last winter, the other jumper is so cute, you can't really tell from the picture but it is kind of glittery as it has metallic thread in it and an open back, honestly right up my street! This leather jacket is definitely a statement piece, my current leather jacket is a bit worn now so I think it's time for a new one, the fur collar is such a great accessory for winter too. As for the Primark shoes, I really think these are such good quality and not a bad price to pay, I am not usually a fan of Primark but I must admit that these have most certainly caught my eye. Finally, the pyjamas are a must have, I have a little obsession going on at the moment with cute pyjamas and these are top of my list right now!

What is on your wish list at the moment? Check back in a couple of days to see my huge autumn haul. :)
