REVIEW: Vatika Hair Products

Vatika cactus enriched hair oil, £4.49, Superdrug| Vatika wild cactus anti break conditioner, £2.99, Amazon UK

I was very excited when I received these two products last week,  as it was the first time I had ever been sent hair products for review! I must admit thought that when I saw the Vatika naturals cactus enriched hair oil contained garlic I was a little worried about what the smell was going to be like, I must admit though it smells okay, and not a whiff of garlic! It was a perfect time to send me this hair oil as I am currently really obsessed with trying new products to try and improve the quality of my hair, as before I was never really bothered and didn't take care of it as much as I should have.

I find that in all seasons of the year I struggle with the frizzy nature of my hair, but if like me you have this problem then I highly suggest you try a hair oil. In the cold winter months I always find my hair is so so frizzy but since using this I haven't noticed it as much, admittedly I have only used this oil a couple of times so I am yet to see if in the long run it improves the over all quality of my hair.

As for the wild cactus anti breakage conditioner, I was also very excited to try this out as I am an absolute hair straightener worshipper, it is horrifying the amount I straighten it and so I do suffer from hair breakages. I have however been using heat activated hair oils for the past 4 months which have meant I don't need to straighten it for as long or as often as I did before and I have noticed a substantial difference in the quality of my hair, I no longer have lots of dead ends and it is also starting to grow! The Vatika conditioner 'strengthens and nourishes', and so is perfect for breaking, falling and weak hair, something that I suffer from. Although it is difficult for me to judge the effect of this conditioner on my hair as I use many other hair products as well as it, I have found that it leaves your hair feeling ridiculously soft and smells divine!

After researching more around these hair products I have found that they are primarily made for ethnic hair types, however I think they work perfectly if you have the same hair type as me that is prone to frizz. I had never even heard about Vatika naturals before being sent them for review but if you would like to try them yourself you can purchase them and the rest of the range from Superdrug and on Amazon. You can find more out about the Vatika hair range HERE.

Wish List #1

Cropped tee, £10, Topshop| Cream marabou feather beanie hat, £13, River Island| Leather zip front across the body bag, £50, Next| Minnie and mickey pyjama set, £22, Topshop| Silver metallic 90's crop top, £20, Miss Selfridge| Unicorn hottie, £9, Topshop| SQUEEZE pom pom velvet slippers, £22, Topshop| Scatter embellished necklace jumper, £36, Topshop| Long sleeve skinny rib crop top, £10, Topshop| Silver lace a line skirt, £30, River Island

As it is starting to get closer to Christmas I think it's now acceptable to be creating this wish list as everyone needs to start thinking about what they want for Christmas! Although I probably won't be asking for this for Christmas it's making me start to think about what I actually might ask for, I have the same issue every year, I want want want all year around and then when it gets to Christmas I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WANT. Anyone else have this problem?

Although I am seriously in no financial position to be starting to create wish lists, I must defend myself as almost everything on this list is so affordable! For example these cropped tee and long sleeve skinny rib top's are only £10 each, for basics these two are lovely! You may also have noticed the presence of a beanie hat in this wish list, lets be honest, the chances of be actually buying it or actually wearing it are pretty slim, but it was cute so hey ho it made it onto my wishlist. These pom pom velvet slippers are to die for, as soon as I saw them in store I couldn't resist them, they are so cute and yes a little eccentric, they are also very impractical for the current weather, boooo.

I am a particular fan of the 90's trend and I am absolutely in love with this metallic crop top and at £20 it's really affordable as you can wear it over and over for nights out. On the subject of dressing for nights out, this silver lace a line skirt from River Island really surprised me as it's only £30 yet it looks so expensive. The most expensive item on my wish list is this gorgeous bag from Next which costs £50, tbh I don't mind spending a lot on bags because I use them all the time! I love the faux pony hair trend, although some people either love it or hate it!

What have you all got on your wish lists? Leave me a comment below! :)

River Island Wish List

1. Light pink long sleeve crop top, £16| 2. Cream fluffy crop top, £20| 3. Lilac marabou feather beanie hat, £13| 4. Black mesh embellished top, £28| 5. Grey faux fur box clutch bag, £30| 6. Black platform barely there sandals, £50| 7. Black cleated sole zip front ankle boots, £70| 8. Cream ribbed cowl neck top, £16| 9. Cream faux fur snood, £18

I must admit I haven't been a massive fan of River Island in recent times, but literally at the beginning of this week I walked into the store to find that everything had been moved around, there was a whole load of new stuff in store, and it was all right up my street! They have just got their new winter collection in store and it is full of casual knitwear, ribbed crop tops, velvet, glitter, winter warmers, pastels and fluffy accessories! I literally want it all so much, I have such a massive wish list right now and this is some of it!

I am a particular fan of their range of long sleeved crop tops, this pink one is an online exclusive whereas I have the lilac version which is limited edition, it also comes in black and grey. Something that caught my eye this week was quite an unusual style, the ribbed cowl neck top is just something that I would never usually go for, however high necks and turtle necks appear to be so on trend at the moment and I love it! I think they are very flattering in a way...

Recently I covered the fluff trend, it is everywhere... in particular I love this  fluffy hat, fluffy jumper and fluffy clutch. Faux fur is also a great trend for winter, it is a great accessory to your outfit and also keeps you super warm and cosy in these colder months, which is why I really like this snood.

If you also haven't noticed by now, I am a major magpie, I love anything that glitters or sparkles... and as you may have spotted, now that we are getting into the Christmas season metallic and glitter is everywhere right now, I just love this embellished sheer top it is so subtle yet is great for a special occasion, love it!

As for the River Island shoe collection at the moment you cannot go wrong, they have one of the best selections of winter boots that I have seen around at the moment, ranging in price anything from £30-£90 there is something for every budget and style, in particular I really like these black cleated sole zip front ankle boots but as I have literally just bought my winter boots I am going to have to resist the urge to buy these beauties.

Don't forget to check online at ASOS to see if they stock a particular River Island product to get your student discount (one of the reasons why I never shop at River Island) and at the moment you can pick up an issue of Grazia and get 25% off River Island!

What have you all been buying recently? What do you think of River Island? Leave me a comment below! :)

Designer Jewellery: Tiffany & Co.

(Left to right) Bead bracelet, £130| Dome watch, £3,100| Flat pouch, £80| Mini heart earrings, £205| Flower ring, £1625| Heart bracelet, £235| Heart shape diamond engagement ring, £9,600| Heart tag pendant, £220| Line bracelet, £46,400

Okay I am not entirely sure why I created this post because it is not like I actually afford anything from Tiffany & Co. but I guess it is always nice to admire things you cant have, right? I have thankfully been very fortunate to have received 3 pieces of Tiffany jewellery over the past couple of years from my boyfriend, I have the bead bracelet in both pink and plain and I have a necklace to match the pink bead bracelet, I absolutely love them!

I just love Tiffany & Co. because it is so expensive, it just looks so classy, although they have over the top diamonds and pearls they also have subtle and classic jewellery like the plain tag necklaces and bracelets, which look so precious. I only ever wear mine on very special occasions, I am always so terrified that it will fall off, break or i'll lose it!

When writing this post it was actually the first time I looked through the whole range, I had never come across the watches for example and they are gorgeous, I'm absolutely in love with them all! They have also introduced a leather collection which includes all manner of purses etc, I was particularly excited when I saw these and actually considered asking for one for Christmas until I saw the price of them! Don't forget to check out their new Tiffany T collection too its fab :)

Also, I'm going to admit to this... like surely every girl has done this before? Surely... okay, i'll say it, I've chosen my engagement ring, that's not even the worst part... I decided 4 years ago, as soon as I saw this heart shaped diamond I fell in love, this is all I want from life! Hint hint potential future husbands... Okay enough of the crazy girlfriend talk, but I think every girl dreams of her engagement ring hehe. Not all Tiffany jewellery is so expensive, for around £100 you can get earrings and charm bracelets which are a perfect addition to any outfit!

What do you think of Tiffany? Do you have any of their jewellery? What is your favourite designer jewellery? Leave me a comment below! :)

Top 10: Beauty Advent Calendars

1. Candy Coated Countdown, £60, Benefit| 2. Ciate, £49| 3. No7, £35| 4. Yankee, £24.99| 5. Body Shop, £50| 6. The Enchanted Spells, £85, Selfridges| 7. Liberty, £149| 8. Freedom advent calendar, £25, Topshop| 9. L'Occitane, £45| 10. Jo Malone, £250

This is the first time that I have ever seen these in stores before, and I only  really became aware that they actually existed because of all the hype of other beauty bloggers talking about the Benefit "Candy coated countdown" calendar. Honestly, this one is at the very top of my wish list and although none of them are very cheap, in terms of value these are absolutely perfect for grabbing yourself some of the most popular beauty products in miniature size for a beauty treat every single day up until Christmas! There really is something for all of you, depending on what products you prefer, what brand you tend to buy and what price you're prepared to pay; here is my pick of some of the best advent calendars for 2014.

1. Benefit, Candy Coated Countdown £60- Jam packed with all of the beauty essentials you could ask for! Filled with miniature versions of all the most popular products from Benefit, plus a few little extras. At £60 this is a little pricey, but when you consider the price of the full size products on their own, you will be able to try each and every one of them at a fraction of the price! Available from Benefit and Debenhams, it is currently sold out, but I am most certainly holding out hope that it will come back in stock ASAP.

2. Ciate £49- Another favourite of mine, the Ciate calendar means that every day in the run up to Christmas you are treated with a small nail varnish, for someone who doesn't really buy that much nail polish, this really appeals to me, the colours look great and I just love Ciate products!

3. No7 £35- This is one of the cheapest calendars around, and is still stuffed full of makeup and beauty essentials including; makeup brushes, creams, lipsticks and nail polish, in terms of value, this calendar will save you a whopping £130! Plus, with this calendar you even get a little gift on Christmas day! What's not to like?

4. Yankee, £24.99- Okay, this technically isn't a beauty calendar, but I guessed that a lot of you would be interested in this one, who doesn't love making their home more festive this season by lighting a few fragrant candles? Each day includes a tea light candle in many different seasonal scents, for only £24.99 this one is perfect for those of you looking for something very festive this season.

5. Body Shop, £50- This is definitely my second favourite of the advent calendars, Body Shop products are always divine, the high quality, beautiful fragrances plus their ethical code of conduct makes this one so much more appealing. The calendar includes an array of lotions and potions, along with makeup and soaps, definitely second place on my wish list!

6. The Enchanted Spells, £85, Selfridges- Now we are getting into the more high end beauty advent calendars, and although on one hand the products in this calendar are very luxurious, including brands such as Lancôme, Victor & Rolf, and Yves Saint Laurent, the price is personally too much to pay in my opinion, but for those of you looking for something a little special then this is the one for you!

7. Liberty £149- Again this calendar comes with a  hefty price tag of a huge £149, this one is definitely more of an investment in the products. I absolutely love this one, the design replicates the front of the Liberty London store, and is filled with brands ranging from Laura Mercier to NARS, Dermalogica and Diptyque, definitely one for the big spender.

8. Freedom at Topshop, £25- The most affordable of all of the calendars listed, this one is definitely a bargain. Filled with earring studs, necklaces and bracelets this is perfect for giving you a little treat each and every single day until Christmas!

9. L'Occitane £45- At £45 this one is one of the most affordable and has great value, if you are a fan of L'Occitane products, you will be pleasantly surprised each day by sensual fragrances, body and skincare treats!

10. Jo Malone £250- Right, this one is quite frankly a ridiculous price to pay, but if you can afford it go for it! I had to feature this one as Jo Malone products are so luxurious and this calendar is bursting with extra special little treats, including colonges and body crèmes, you will be able to pick up this one from Harrods and other stores nationwide.

What do you think of the beauty advent calendar? Which one is your favourite? Have you bought yours yet? Leave me a comment below! :)

Wish List: The Beauty Edit

(Left to right) Advent Calendar- candy coated countdown, £60, Benefit| Nails in figment, £6, Topshop| No7 midnight lash mascara, £13.50,  Boots| Lolli Balm, £14.50, Boots| Glitter pot in space cowboy, £4, Topshop| Bourjois little round pot blusher rose pompon 37, £7.99, Superdrug| Zoella blisfull mistful, £8, Superdrug| Sleek face contouring kit Light, £9.99, Superdrug| Royal brush 12 piece brush kit love is trusting, $39.99, Amazon.com| Nail polish in velvet goth valerian, £5, Models Own.

I have never been a massive fan of spending lots of money on hair and beauty products, personally I would rather spend my money on clothes! However, since moving in with my house mate Sophie- http://sophiesclosetxo.blogspot.co.uk/ (fellow shop-a-holic), I have become more and more interested in makeup!

Whenever I am shopping with Soph there is rarely a time when we don't pop into Boots or Superdrug for a cheeky browse, and she very much likes to have really good quality makeup and takes her time to make sure her makeup looks perfect... honestly the other day she tried to teach me how to contour, I was absolutely puzzled! Anyway, I will admit that now she is motivating me to mix up my makeup a little, as I tend to follow the same routine day and night for my makeup, the only thing I tend to change up is my lipsticks, I know, so bad.

But now I have had a little browse of what's on offer, I must admit that I really had no idea at all of what a range of products there actually is out there. I am now willing to experiment with different brushes, primers, creams and contouring palettes so if any of you have any video tutorials that may help me a little, please share them in the comments section below!

For now I have made a little wish list of some of the bits and bobs that have caught my eye recently, when I think about it, it is actually probably less expensive to have an addiction to buying beauty products rather than clothes, with brands such as Sleek, Collection, Seventeen, W7 and natural collection who can complain about price?!

My wish list includes mainly products I want to try, such as the Sleek contouring palette, and the glitter pot, and also products that are such a must have, including the Topshop and Models Own  nail varnishes, Zoella body mist (I have the body lotion and it smells divine), and Benefit Lolli-Balm which looks so amazing I just need to try it, and also the makeup brushes are so pretty, at a fraction of the price of Real Techniques makeup brushes for example. Finally the beauty advent calendar is an absolute must have, firstly; you avoid the calories of eating a chocolate filled calendar, it saves a lot of money on products that at full size would be very pricey, and finally, what is better than being treated with a beauty gift every day until Christmas?! £60 may seem like a lot but honestly it is such a saving for the amount of products you get!

What products have you all been using recently? Remember to leave me any makeup tutorial video links below! :)

If you're a regular reader of my blog or saw my recent "autumn haul" post, then you will know how much of a big spender I have been recently, I have got so carried away with buying new clothes for winter that I have literally nearly spend my whole student loan... I have £170 to last me until next loan (January) and bearing in mind I have no job I am seriously in trouble! It is just so  tempting when all the stores are bringing out their new winter collections, I just haven't considered the cost of all this spending!

Anyway, I think I can safely say my wardrobe is now A/W14 ready, literally I was looking at my wardrobe today and the majority of it is brand new. To be fair to myself, some of it has come from Primark and Missguided, and some of the basics I have bought were only around £10 so I've only really splurged on the glittery lurex top, fluffy jumper and faux fur hem shell top... *tries desperately to justify her shop-a-holic behaviour*. You may have also picked up on the fact that I have a small love of glittery socks, I can't help myself they are so cute! I'm a sucker for anything remotely glittery or sparkly as you can tell from some of my other purchases. I have also taken quite a shine to high neck crop tops, I think they are so flattering, I never thought I would be a turtle neck lover but when I tried them I found I really loved them!

As for my beauty buys, I have never been a keen hair care user, trying new hair products has never been high on my agenda, but with the weather becoming colder it means my hair tends to frizz really bad and honestly since i've started using the Got 2 Be crazy 4 days sleek straightening spray before blow drying, and the oil-licious dry oil mist after straightening, I have honestly seen the benefits, I bought them on a 2  for £5 offer at boots but they are only £3 each anyway, they have seriously tamed my hair! As for the LUSH bubblegum lip scrub and Zoella body lotion, these were just must haves that I was desperate to try, they both smell divine!

What have you all been buying recently? Pinky promise there wont be a 'November haul' post... I think.. haha.

Bonfire Night Essentials

1. Faux fur paw mittens, £20, Topshop| 2. Dark red long sleeve crop top, £16, River Island| 3. Twisted faux fur snood, £25, Topshop| 4. Beth felt zip front A-line skirt baby pink, £19.99, Missguided| 5. Alice Hannah gem faux fur ear muffs, £20, Next| 6. Women's original tall gloss wellington boots, £95,  Hunter| 7. Kintted fluffy crop jumper, £34, Topshop| 8. Celine teddy faux fur pink, £54.99, Missguided| 9. Diaganol rib beanie, £14, Topshop| 10. Red tartan blanket scarf, £15, River Island

I am so excited for bonfire night I can't even explain it! Although I am a little bit down in the dumps that I won't be able to go with my boyfriend again this year, I do have my housemates instead! Living in Leeds is fab as there are so many displays to choose from, and they are all so amazing! The only thing I must complain about however is the weather, it's now November and it is starting to get very cold... so if like me you are deciding to head out to a firework display this bonfire night, I have compiled a list of all of the essentials you need to wrap up warm!

I absolutely love this time of year when it comes to revamping your wardrobe and buying all of your winter warmers, and now is the perfect time to grab yourself a bargain, so many places have offers on their winter essentials at the moment including Missguided who are offering 15% off a the moment on selected items!

When it comes to buying your bonfire night essentials I think it is very important to make sure you have your mittens, woolly jumpers, scarves, muffs and hats at the ready as it can be freezing cold, and firework displays usually mean waiting around for ages for them to actually start! I absolutely love this tartan blanket scarf from River Island, tartan is very on trend at the moment and so are blanket scarfs, they are so cosy! As for the paw print mittens, they are so irresistible, very cute. Also, considering you're going to be stood in a massive mucky field, don't forget your wellies! I am by no means saying go out and snap up a pair of Hunter wellies, they are so expensive, but if you do fancy getting a pair, look at them as an investment, you will be wearing these all winter ever year!

It's not all just about the winter accessories, there are plenty of ways to wrap up warm this winter, whether it is a fluffy jumper or a felt skirt, consider textures this season such as velvets and ribbed materials that are designed to keep you warm, dressing for winter doesn't have to mean a massive un flattering parka! I am absolutely in love with this teddy coat, very on trend for A/W14 as are winter pastels, so this one is perfect!

Are you heading out to a firework display this bonfire night? What are your winter essentials? Leave me a comment below :)

Autumn Trend Favourites

1. Alexia cleated sole Chelsea boots, £34.99, Missguided| 2. Check scarf in blue boucle, £16, ASOS| 3. Check tee, £38, Topshop| 4. Faux fur zip through A-line skirt, £42, Topshop| 5. Fur collar coat, £95, Warehouse| 6. Lurex crop top, £22, Topshop| 7. Knitted fluffy long jumper, £85, Topshop| 8. Pink Fairisle knitted slipper, £5.99, New Look| 9. Smart boxy crossbody bag, £34, Topshop| 10. River Island Threadthrough tippet, £30, ASOS

The best thing about coming into a new season is not only are the leaves starting to fall from the trees, the days getting shorter and although the weather is getting colder, it also means high street stores are starting to fill up with all of their new A/W14 stock! I just love seeing all of the knitwear, woolly accessories and cosy winter coats coming into stores and it is safe to say that there are some major autumn trends which are coming onto the high street this season:

Patterns- in particular winter florals and folk prints.

Oversized teddy, cocoon & boyfriend coats- in all sorts of bold colours and textures.

Pastels- this trend has transitioned through S/S14 and into the autumn season, pinks, lilacs and blues are still so popular!

Blanket scarves & capes- not only are they super cosy but they are very on trend, think tartan.

Plaid- flannel checks and tartan prints on just about everything imaginable.

Collars- statement collars have been around for quite a while now and they show no sign of going away, whether you have an embellished neckline, a big collar or by just adding a statement necklace to your top, there are many ways to work this trend.

Sixties style- patent mary janes and the mini skirt are key ways to follow this trend!

Eccentric furs- we all have seen the faux fur collars on a leather jacket, but this season fur is going bolder than ever before, look out for huge fluffy fur coats and jackets.

Metallics- whether its metallic thread in your jumper, a completely metallic glittery dress or even just a metallic touch to your boots this will definitely put you in the mood for Christmas!

Sportswear- another trend which has transitioned from S/S14, this is such a fun trend and you can even get away with wearing your comfy trainers not just at the gym!

Fairytale- Think chiffons, lace, fluff and precious embroidery, one of my favourite trends this season.

Velvet- this was a huge trend last A/W season, I literally had a velvet dress, skirt, top, and scrunchies, and now it's back!

What is your favourite A/W14 trend? What do you think of my autumn favourites? Leave me a comment below! :)
