Depop!

I don't know if you have heard of this app, but I'm not kidding you it is becoming an addiction. Basically it is a little bit like Ebay where you can sell your brand new or used items to others, but this app means you can also swap items, negotiated over prices and message your seller before you buy. The app also allows you to pay direct through depop or through your own means via paypal or bank transfer, simple!

I particularly love this app as it lists all of the most popular items or you can search for a specific item, by building up a friends list you can also sift through the varies items people are selling. I know what you're thinking, it's basically people selling crap they don't want anymore... to be honest I have found that people tend to sell things they never got round to wearing and have never worn before for a fraction of the retail selling price, people are also selling handmade products such as scrunchies and chokers, all at bargain prices!
This is such a fantastic way to make a little bit of money or to save yourself some money by bagging yourself a bargain, I have already treated myself to a lace fringed cami, bandana top, lace crop top, 2 chokers and a fluffy jumper at such low prices.... I guess I can't afford to be buying full price items at the moment so at least I am feeding my addiction at a lower cost, right?

I have just got back from university, and guess what? My stuff literally won't fit in my room so it is time for a clear out, hence why I am now uploading loads of my bits and pieces to depop. I would absolutely love if you would follow me on there, my username is eleanordanksx also if you would like, you can comment your username below and I will give you a follow and check out your depop! :)

British Soap Awards 2014

As always I have decided to cover the best fashion spotted at the British Soap Awards last night. I don't know about you, but I am such a sucker for the soaps, I have watched them from being so little and they really are an addiction! So, seeing what my favourite soap celebs were wearing is just so exciting for me... (sad, I know).

However, I must admit that I am a little disappointed this year, as everyone opted for more subtle rather than glamorous outfits, but summery colours were certainly popular with oranges, corals, pinks and even yellows were some of the most chosen coloured dresses to wear. However, some outfits in particular caught my eye including; Jacqueline Jossa, Brooke Vincent and Jorgie Porter, who had some very glamorous dresses. Below I have compiled a group of my most favourite looks from the awards, who do you think was the best dressed? :)

1. Michelle Keegan- I was particularly surprised to see that Michelle had decided to opt for a monochrome suit rather than one of her usual glamorous dresses, but I really think it works for her, she looks so gorgeous and yet smart at the same time, I swear she could look good in a bin liner.

2. Mandip Gill- This is one of my favourite dresses, the champagne colour complements her skin tone perfectly, while the floor length gown, heavy embellishment and netting created the perfect look for Mandip, I really would love this dress!

3. Jorgie Porter- She left little to the imagination in this long sleeved metallic lace dress, but the silk floor length bottom accompanies it perfectly, this is such a girly look, while the thigh high split ensures she looks both glamorous and sexy. I also just love the baby pink colour, such a stunning gown.

4. Brooke Vincent- My favourite outfit of the night, as she has put a twist into her outfit from the typical elegant gown, her two piece is not only right on trend but the crisp white skirt channelling old Hollywood glamour accompanied with her gold embellished top and her bed head hair keeps her outfit simple and elegant.

5. Jacqueline Jossa- Such a girl crush going on here! She is one of those girls lucky enough to have natural beauty and this outfit perfectly accentuates her figure. I am such a fan of sheer mesh at the moment and her bold blue floor length skirt keeps her look elegant and award ceremony ready!

Remember, you can catch all of the glamour from the awards as it is aired on ITV tonight! :)

Don't consider white to be "plain", consider it to be versatile and an investment because you can literally team it with anything in your wardrobe! Summer Trend #4| Tribal

Tribal has always been one of my favourite fashion trends, I don't know what it is but just the crazy prints, materials and colours are so fun to style. Just like the folk trend, tribal doesn't have to be as bold as an Aztec print, instead you can channel tribal style with khaki, laid back sandals or even a big floppy sun hat. I am a particular fan of this gorgeous orange wrap skirt which is just so bold and colourful, yet the simplistic shape ensures you can keep this style casual. If you're heading on a summer holiday this year I totally recommend you giving this style a go!

2. Big felt floppy hat- £28

I just love this trend because you can play around with it to suit yourself, whether you would like to wear floral prints, a flower garland or even just an item of jewellery, you can definitely find something to suit you. In particular I love all of the pastel flower colours which are all over the high street, however one trend which I failed to try last summer was flower garlands, as I think some of them just got a little too big, so I have found this little one below that I think I might just buy!

So, I am super busy at the moment with exam revision and I am really having trouble with finding the time to put blog posts together as I have an exam this week and two next week, but hopefully after that I will be able to get back into blogging! Anyway, seen as I am not blogging much I thought I would do a few posts this week on the main summer trends, I don't know about you but I just love seeing the up and coming trends which are making their way onto the high street, and so in this post I have firstly covered tropical!

Review| Opal Boutique & OOTD

*When it comes to staple wardrobe pieces, a couple of items spring to mind; LBD, shift dress, high waist jeans, statement jewellery and a shirt. All of which are so versatile it just makes sense to have them to play around with many different outfits for many occasions! Recently I received a beautiful *White Crotchet Back Shirt and *Gold chunky chain statement necklace from the cutest fashion boutique, Opal fashions. The store is based in Wigan and they also have their Website, offering affordable fashions for all occasions; casual, day, work, party, race day and prom and also offer exclusive brands such as; Quontum, Chi Chi London, Paper Dolls and TFNC.
I am absolutely in love with the shirt as I have never got round to buying myself one and this one not only has a soft white shirt material and pearly button fastenings on the front, but on the back their is crotchet detail. I am also a bit fan of collars at the moment and so wearing this shirt means you can team it with a statement necklace. The top is such a light floaty material which is perfect for spring an summer, but also in autumn and winter if accompanied by a jumper or jacket! In my OOTD, I have chosen to compliment it with high waist trousers, cut out boots, statement necklace, bag and cropped pastel jumper for a causal day spring look. You could also wear this on an evening if paired with jeans or skirt with heels and added jewellery, or for work too! The only thing you need to be wary of is the material, as it is a little see- through so be sure to wear a white bra, bralette or vest top underneath.

The statement gold necklace is also particularly lovely as I just love to accessorize my outfits with statement jewellery, and this one is particularly on trend. It is so versatile and is suitable for dressing up most outfits, or adding just a little something extra to a dull outfit!

*Soft white shirt Button fastening to the front Crotchet detail on the back- £18.00 NOW £15.00 (wearing a size S will fit sizes 6-10)
*Gold chunky chain necklace- £10.00

Don't forget you can find Opal Boutique at their Website, Twitter and Facebook. What do you think of my look? What staple pieces are in your wardrobe this spring? :)

The New York Met Gala

Held at the metropolitan museum of art in New York, last night was one of the most fabulous nights for fashion, the met ball, which was hosted by Anna Wintour and cost a massive $25,000 for a ticket! The event followed the theme of "old-school glamour" and I must say that every celeb there looked amazing, however a select few particularly caught my eye, including Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner who wore Topshop, Beyoncé and Rihanna, whose outfits were absolutely amazing! Who do you think was the best dressed celebrity? :)
1. Blake Lively- Custom-made golden Gucci Première gown
2. Kendall Jenner- Nude Topshop fish tail dress
3. Kim Kardashian- Lanvin midnight blue structured gown
4. Rihanna- Stella McCartney statement gown featuring a bold cut out with long sleeves and an embellished high neck
5. Victoria Beckham- minimalistic, simple white gown with a few pieces of Jacob & Co. diamond jewellery
6. Selena Gomez-Wine coloured plunging gown
7. Beyoncé- low-cut beaded Givenchy couture dress and veiled headpiece
8. Rosie- Huntington- Whiteley- Roman inspired Balmain autumn/winter 2014 dress with gold studs and leopard print
9. Rachel McAdams- Pastel pink gown
10. Jessica Alba- Muted gold lace design by Diane Von Furstenberg

Mascara Review| No7 Lash Impact

Okay I'm not going to lie, the first thing which attracted me to this mascara was the bottle, the red glitter packaging just looks so cute! This mascara is new to the shelves at the moment so I thought I would be a good beauty blogger and buy it, try it and blog about it! If i'm honest I usually tend to go for mascaras with a bigger volumising brush than this one, as thinner brushes tend to be better for lengthening, whereas I would rather add volume to my already long ish lashes. However, I must admit this mascara brush worked fantastically and it certainly lived up to its name "lash impact", so if your like me and got a little put off at first, try it! I found that this brush worked so well for separating lashes and giving the impression of longer eye lashes, and once left to dry for 2 minutes or so, applying a little more adds volume, et voila! Gorgeous lashes. Have you tried this mascara? What do you think? :)
